The PyCon UK Society: Privacy Policy

The PyCon UK Society ("we", "us" or "our" for short) is registered to collect and process personal data under the UK Data Protection Act 1998 (the "Act" for short), entry number Z1659401 in the Register. The PyCon UK Society are data controllers of your personal information for the purposes of the Act. We also collect information when you voluntarily submit it to us. On our website, we provide you with the opportunity to register for a conference, and to participate in the wiki pages of conferences. We will use this information solely for the organisation and proper running of conferences and will not pass this information on to any third party.

When you pay us via our website by debit or credit card your card details are fully encrypted and sent direct to our Payment Services Provider, PayPal. We do not see your card details nor do we store them. If you pay using your debit or credit card by giving us your card details over the telephone we enter them into the PayPal system over a fully- encrypted connection and destroy the details afterwards. We do not store your card details.

Use of your information

Any password you provide when registering with the website is encrypted to ensure protection against unauthorised access to your personal information.

We invest in high-quality security and do our utmost to protect user privacy. No data transmission over the Internet can be entirely secure, and therefore we cannot guarantee the security of your personal information and/or use of the website. Any information that you send is at your own risk and may be read by others. However once we have received your personal information we use strict procedures to protect the security of your personal information.

Any personal information gathered by or supplied to us via the website or the conference will be used in accordance with this Privacy Policy, in accordance with your wishes as indicated to us and in accordance with the Act.
